The Munich-based software company VRdirect has released a new version of its platform “VRdirect Studio”. The update contains numerous new features, such as support for high-resolution images and animated objects, as well as the ability to place so-called post-URLs, i.e. external links directly in virtual reality applications. The new functions directly improve integration of virtual reality into existing IT infrastructures even further and thus facilitate widespread use in the company, as the specialist departments can easily develop their VR content themselves without having to resort to IT.

The message is stark, urgent and global; the progress of the coronavirus pandemic can only be slowed to manageable levels if we all practice social distancing and self-isolation. We all have daunting challenges to face in a world of restricted travel, remote working, and limited social interaction. Even after the initial crisis measures have been relaxed, it won’t be ‘business as normal’ for some time to come.

Virtual reality has come a long way in a short time, and it’s still advancing at a rapid rate, making it easier for anyone to create, enjoy, and share VR experiences. Web Player makes it possible to experience VR in your browser. The goal is to make it easier for everyone to get into VR experiences, no matter what device you have.

1. April 2020

Munich, April 01, 2020: In response to the current corona crisis, the Munich-based start-up VRdirect is offering small and medium-sized companies the opportunity to use its software for creating their own virtual reality content completely free of charge for six months. The offer is valid until 30 September for companies and is aimed primarily at sectors in which the opportunity to present products on their own sales floors or at trade fairs and events is lacking because of current security regulations. Virtual Reality represents a great opportunity to present one’s own products or services in a visually appealing way and to integrate possibilities for direct purchase within a self-designed application. In addition, VRdirect offers companies of all sizes support in the implementation of virtual reality projects by providing the necessary hardware (e.g. 360° cameras) and consultation regarding the development of a virtual reality strategy.
